James verse by verse

The book of James is directed at the Jewish Christians during a time when they were undergoing great persecution. It encourages them to be patient, exhorts them unto true religion, and rebukes them for their worldly-mindedness. The admonition given is both useful for all who endure temptations, and particularly relevant for the coming time when the twelve tribes will again be scattered abroad, and must patiently wait for their Savior.
